Aged care service providers must comply with their obligations under the Aged Care Act 1997. If you are eligible to receive services from an approved provider (more information) under this Act, those services must meet Australian Government standards. As a care recipient, you have the right:

Aged care homes

Aged care homes must be accredited under the Accreditation Standards for Residential Aged Care in order to receive subsidies from the Australian Government. The standards cover such things as management, care, lifestyle, quality and safety issues. There are 4 standards, with 44 outcomes under these standards which must be met.
