Commonwealth Carer Respite Centres
Commonwealth Carer Respite Centres coordinate access to respite services in your local area so that you can take a break from your caring responsibilities and look after your own health and well-being. You’ll find that these centres can advise you about respite services that best suit your needs and help you to find the services that are closest to you.
Examples of respite care assistance include:
- in-home respite care
- 24-hour emergency respite care
- support workers to assist you when you’re taking a break away from home, and
- over-night respite care in aged care homes or in a community setting.
There is no charge for the assistance provided by the Commonwealth Carer Respite Centres. But if you use a referred service, then individual service fees may apply.
