The Network of Carer Associations
Do you need up-to-date, relevant advice and information about any aspect of caring for someone, or perhaps specialised counselling relating to your caring role? If so, then you may find the Network of Carer Associations extremely useful.
These centres are an excellent resource if you’re looking for support groups and educational programs for carers.
These centres also provide specific information for carers from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, as well as information for carers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
There’s no charge for help provided at the Network of Carer Associations. However, if you use a referred service, then individual service fees may apply.
National Carer Counselling Program (NCCP)
As mentioned above, the Network of Carer Associations also provide access to specialised counselling if you’re struggling with your caring responsibilities. Counselling is provided through the National Carer Counselling Program on issues that are specific to carers’ needs, such as depression, stress-related issues, grief and loss and coping skills. Fees are charged, depending on the carer's ability to pay. More information can be obtained by phoning the Network of Carer Associations on 1800 242 636.
