Income-tested fee
Residents of aged care homes pay a contribution towards the cost of their care - a daily care fee. This daily care fee has two parts: a basic daily care fee based on a pension assessment by Centrelink or DVA and an income-tested fee. The income-tested fee is assessed and is paid by residents who have private income over a certain level.Read more: About pensioners
