The Cancer Council of Australia

The Cancer Council of Australia is Australia's national non-government cancer control organisation. The Cancer Council’s members are the eight state and territory cancer organisations, working together to undertake and fund cancer research, prevent and control cancer and provide information and support for people affected by cancer.

Transition care

Transition care provides short-term care that seeks to optimise the functioning and independence of older people after a hospital stay. It seeks to enable more people to return home after a hospital stay rather than enter residential care.

The Transition Care Program provides a package of short-term care that seeks to optimise the functioning and independence of older people after a hospital stay. It seeks to enable more people to return home after a hospital stay rather than enter an aged care home.

Translating and interpreting service

Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) is available for both English and non-English speakers. For non-English speakers, TIS National can provide telephone and onsite interpreters. For English speakers, TIS National provides interpreting services to help communicate with non-English speaking people, using telephone interpreting, ATIS - the Automated Telephone Interpreting Service and onsite interpreting.
