Respite care

Respite care has two purposes. It is made available to support carers – to allow them to take a break from their usual care arrangements and to provide support so that older people can continue living in their own homes.

Eligibility

Residential respite services you need an assessment from an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT or ACAS in Victoria) (more information).
