Volunteer services
Volunteers play an important part in Australia’s health care system, especially in rural areas. These volunteers form the community’s most valuable hidden asset, and may be able to help you in your role as a carer by:
- carrying out home visits
- helping with food shopping
- providing transport to medical, dental and hospital appointments, and
- assisting with a wide range of other services that you may find useful, including food preparation, home maintenance and personal care.
