What activities will be offered?
There will be social and other activities in your aged care home, and you will be encouraged to take part in as many activities as you like.
These activities are either organised within the home or involve people from the community as well. You and your family can have a say in what activities are planned.
Many aged care homes have activity officers or therapists who will discuss your hobbies and interests with you, and help you to continue with them while you are in the home. They may also offer you new activities.

Common questions on this topic:
- At home I have my routine of things I do each day. What will I do all day when I move to a home?
- I've never been keen on party games, spectator sports or group activities. Now I'm in the aged care home they are asking me join in the regular social activities like Bingo or watching football, but I am quite happy with my books and music. I have a couple of good friends and get on OK with the others at meals and when I go on some of the bus trips. Do I have to join in the activities?
- Will I be able to use the internet to continue to chat with friends and family?
