Common question
| Question: | Dad has dementia. Is there any help we can get to look after him? |
| Answer: | This website has a section on the care and support that can be provided for people with dementia and their carers. You may wish to read that information first. The National Dementia Helpline - 1800 100 500 - can also advise you what help and services may be available, such as the Living with Memory Loss Program and the carer respite program. Other programs for older people generally, such as home and community care services, community care packages, extended care in the home, including some places especially for people with dementia, and aged care homes are also available. Contact your local Commonwealth Carelink Centre on 1800 052 222 to find about services available, eligibility requirements and costs. Read More: About dementia |
