Question: Now that Dad is getting older he is having trouble with his bladder - leaking a bit day or night. Can anything be done about this?
Answer: Check with his doctor that there is no medical cause of the problem. The doctor or a physiotherapist will be able to give him exercises that may improve bladder control and advise on the most appropriate continence aids. The National Continence Helpline, 1800 33 00 66, is an information and referral telephone service for people with incontinence, their carers and health professionals. It is staffed by experienced continence nurse advisers who provide a confidential, professional services for people with continence problems.
