Help with aged care homes

Common question

Question: What happens if I am a full pensioner or someone else who cannot afford an extra service place?
Answer: The Australian Government has ensured that those not in a position to afford the additional cost of extra service receive access to quality aged care. There is a limit to the proportion of extra service approved in each state and territory up to a maximum of 15% of all residential aged care places. Socio-economic profiles of each region are also taken into account to ensure that access to aged care is not denied to those who cannot afford extra service.
