| Answer: |
If a pensioner or part pensioner resident initially entered care prior to 20 March 2008 and agreed to pay an accommodation bond of more than 10 times the annual single basic aged pension at that time, pensioner supplement is not payable in respect of that resident. The resident may therefore be asked to pay up to the non standard rate of basic daily fee. Any additional resident fees payable by the resident as a result of the aged care home not being entitled to pensioner supplement for that resident, must be specified in the accommodation bond agreement.
