Question:	Why should I have an assets assessment?
Answer:	You should have an assets assessment if you have a low level of assets and you are seeking government assistance with your accommodation costs or to help you work out the accommodation payment you can be asked to make. It is not compulsory to have an assets assessment unless you are seeking assistance with your accommodation costs.
