Common question
| Question: | My Mum is a low level care resident and gets her medication given to her from a special 'Webster' pack. She is charged by the home for this. Is this right? |
| Answer: | Every home must have a system in place for administering medication. If the home chooses to use the Webster pack system then the home must pay for this, whether the resident is low level care, or high-level care. Your mum is responsible for paying for the actual medication. If the home has another system of medication management and your mother chooses to use a Webster pack, then she may be required to pay for it as well. Talk to the management of the home if you are concerned, or contact the Aged Care Information Line on 1800 500 853. Read more: About care and services you can expect |
