Common question

Question: I don't want to talk to anyone about the things I can't do. Why do I have to have an ACAT assessment?
Answer: The Australian Government gives financial support to organisations (providers) which provide aged care for people in the community or in aged care homes. The ACAT assessment determines whether the Australian Government-subsidised programs would meet your care needs. Unless you have an ACAT assessment which has found that you meet the eligibility requirements for a particular type of aged care and has approved you for that service, the providers would not receive the subsidy by the Australian Government to provide you with that care.
