Register for an eHealth record
A personally controlled electronic health record is a secure, electronic summary of your important health information. The Australian Government’s eHealth record system brings together key elements of your health information, making getting the right treatment faster, safer and easier.Your eHealth record will be accessible only by you and the healthcare organisations you authorise. The eHealth records system has bank-strength security features including strong encryption and firewalls, secure logins and audit trails.
If you wish, you can nominate a trusted person like a carer or family member to view the information on your eHealth record, or even manage your record on your behalf.
As the eHealth record system develops over time, it will be easier for you to share your medical information with your healthcare professionals, including important information such as your medications, any allergies, and other treatment history.
For more information, or to register for an eHealth record, visit the eHealth website
